Countries with female leaders suffer six times fewer COVID-19 deaths per new analysis.

Deaths per 1 million:

🇳🇴 Norway: 45*
🇪🇪 Estonia: 52*
🇫🇮 Finland: 59*
🇩🇰 Denmark: 104*
🇩🇪 Germany: 107*

🇺🇸 USA: 370
🇸🇪 Sweden: 509
🇬🇧 UK: 628

* Countries led by women  https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-05-countries-female-leaders-covid-deaths.html

Female-led governments were more effective and rapid at flattening the epidemic's curve, with peaks in daily deaths roughly six times lower than in countries led by men…

Taiwan has a woman President—saw the same data as Trump; Covid-19 deaths per million:

Taiwan: 0.3
US: 370

There are some exceptions. UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Brunei, Bahrain are led by men, and they kept Covid-19 deaths lower even than some rich Northern European countries like Norway and Denmark. (Lack of an alcohol-fueled bar culture may have helped?)

In the Middle East, many of the coronavirus cases were among migrant workers who live in group housing. But such workers tend to be young, and get healthcare, so they got tested in time, keeping death rate low. In US, hourly workers tend to be uninsured and became vectors.

Generally, death rates were low in countries that have a strong mask wearing culture, universal healthcare, strong social safety nets (paid sick leave/time off) — and if they had these, it means that public is smart and will take precautions to curb the spread of the disease.
