This L.A. management firm says it supports Black Lives Matter. Former employees say otherwise.

Many entertainment companies have vowed they would stand against racial injustice, including West Hollywood-based Digital Brand Architects. Former employees say the rhetoric didn’t match their own experiences at the firm.

"I was so offended that they would even have the audacity to post that when they didn't even treat their Black employees with respect," said Kelsi Coleman, a former receptionist and operations assistant who was laid off in January.

A former head of HR said white coworkers rapped the N-word in front of her. A Black assistant said she was laid off after complaining about discrimination. An experienced brand manager said a boss rebuffed her ideas and fired her after only a month.

"That is why I have my own business," former manager of brand development Carla Santiago said. "There is no place for us. No one is going to give us a chance, so we have to disrupt. We have to do it our own way."
