1) The performance per watt per $ improvement for Ampere (A100) relative to Volta (V100) is astonishing. Much better than Volta vs. Pascal at launch (2nd table).

Ampere's improvement is actually understated in the 1st table as Volta prices are down 50% from their launch.

2) At launch, Volta offered minimal performance per watt per $ improvement vs. Pascal per the 2nd table.

Ampere is 1.5xish to 20xish better than Volta even with Volta prices down more than Pascal's at a comparable point in time.

Incredible engineering, aggressive pricing.

3) The fact that Ampere can be partitioned up to 7x while being capable of accelerating training, inference and HPC workloads means that Ampere's are likely to be utilized 100% which is further advantage in performance per watt per $ vs. more specialized competitors.
