Early Thursday, divers were attempting to find “Glee” actress Naya Rivera, who is believed to have drowned in Lake Piru  https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-07-09/glee-actress-naya-rivera-feared-drowned-as-search-resumes-at-lake-piru

The search effort includes two helicopters, roughly six pontoon boats and 25 divers.

Authorities have laid out all the events they know that transpired before the tragedy  https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-07-09/glee-actress-naya-rivera-feared-drowned-as-search-resumes-at-lake-piru

The actress first went missing Wednesday after renting a boat in the afternoon  https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-07-08/toddler-is-found-alone-in-a-boat-on-lake-piru-search-and-rescue-for-missing-woman-underway

Rivera had been swimming with her son, who was the last to see her before she went missing. Authorities said the boy got back onto the boat after a swim but his mother did not follow  https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1281094952785604609

As we wrote in 2000, Lake Piru has claimed many lives. We talked to a parks and recreation services manager who explained why the waters have been fatal for some  https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2000-sep-07-me-16875-story.html
