Facebook bans Roger Stone after linking him to fake accounts associated with a US-based disinformation network that also had ties to the Proud Boys network, whose members have attended right-wing extremist gatherings.

Dozens of warrants unsealed in April 2020 revealed a web of contacts between Stone, Assange, and other key 2016 Russian interference figures, and that Stone orchestrated hundreds of fake Facebook accounts and bloggers to run a political influence scheme.

Records illustrate the Trump campaign’s curiosity about what WikiLeaks was going to make public. Steve Bannon told Mueller’s team that he had asked Stone about WikiLeaks because he had heard that Stone had a channel to Assange, and was hoping for more releases of information.

Roger Stone "was in contact with one or more apparently well-connected Israelis at the height of the 2016 campaign, one of whom warned Stone that Trump was “going to be defeated unless we intervene” and promised “we have critical intell[sic].”

The Proud Boys forbids women at its formal meetings—its leader Enrique Tarrio spent nearly a year in federal prison for his role in a scheme to resell stolen medical equipment and was seated directly behind Trump at a rally, wearing a "Roger stone did nothing wrong" shirt.

“Roger — As per PM we have one last shot before moving on. Can you deliver? History will not forgive us. TRUMP IN FREE FALL. OCTOBER SURPRISE COMING!” — Roger Stone’s “Jerusalem interlocutor” messaged him in August 2016. Keep an eye on this angle to be developed in coming years.
