1) @GreenspringVC has an interesting model.
Well regarded venture fund of funds that invests in some top tier early stage funds, which are difficult to access for most LPs.
Additionally, they directly invest in co’s that were backed by their underlying early stage managers.
2) I have seen them lead rounds where an early stage VC I really respect has huge conviction in a company/founder with metrics that are just beginning to inflect.
Other growth equity players want to see ~6 more months and miss the opportunity.
Suspect they do well w/ these.
3) Basically, it seems like their relationships with and trust in their early stage managers give them a speed/context/information advantage in growth equity.
