Here's a neat thing on ebay! It's a Canon Video Floppy Disk Drive, FB-540.

It connects over SCSI and S-Video/RCA.

Video floppies are an entirely analog format that stores NTSC/PAL video frames, so this thing must act as a video digitizer/printer.

I'd be tempted, but that's a bit too expensive and I know for a fact that VideoFloppy tech tends to go out of calibration really quickly, so this thing is probably dead

Found a pamphlet on archive .org

and yeah, it can extract the images over the SCSI interface, but it doesn't appear to be able to write out images to the disk.
And It seems it's only for Macintosh use!

digicamhistory says this came out in 1988 and was sold in the Canon Professional Still Video Imaging Kit (along with this RC-470 camera) for 4,899$
