This justification for new kid-tracking technology is just heartbreaking. We need more tech to track our kids because too much tech is keeping us distracted all the time. What a broken dynamic 😢.  https://www.engadget.com/2018/05/11/child-security-apps-gps-bluetooth-beacons/

The fact that family surveillance tech has such appeal is the most damning indictment of what our media paranoia leads to. Being afraid, all the time in a time of unprecedented low levels of overall crime in most Western societies. Tragic.

What do you think it does to a kid's brain to always be on an electronic leash? To never have a sense of geographical privacy? Trading such psychological damage for a marginal alertness about kidnapping is a delusional bargain.

Add to that damage the idea that mommy and daddy needs to be able to respond to any corporate email within 3 minutes day or night, lest they need to worry about their career. WTF.
